Visibility Credibility

To have authority or credibility we always think we have to prove something or have something that proves our worth. Some sort of qualification - some sort of certification and then people will listen to us.

Part of this is true however, it forgets one of the most fundamental components of credibility which is visibility.

If I simply see you show up enough times, day after day - I start to position you in my head as someone as I can trust - someone who has creditably.

Now of course this makes little sense - if you showup a lot it doesn't always mean you know what you are talking about however, subsciously this signals a strong message to the brain that at least this person is consistent. That they stand for something and that in and of itself raises the level of authority that you have with an audience.

So when you think of building your credibility - don't always think of certifications and portfolio clients -show people you are actually serious by showing up everyday.
